Who is Pure Body Nantucket?
I am originally from Ireland and arrived on Nantucket for the summer in 1994, fell in love with Nantucket (and my husband Jack) and have called the island home ever since. I began researching plant based ingredients and skin care products that would be safe and effective for my increasingly sensitive and "confused" skin. I decided to return to college to study Natural Product Manufacturing at the American College of Healthcare Sciences and graduated with Honors in 2015. I launched Pure Body Nantucket's first product in November of 2016.
My mission is to provide affordable, effective, organic and plant based skin care products using great quality ingredients.
While still living in Cork I worked for an environmental engineering company, one of the first in Ireland. I was introduced to the power of plants while taking a course with Nicola Darrell at The Evergreen Clinic of Natural Medicine in 1994. After moving to Nantucket I worked in the hospitality industry for many years, with well-known successful businesses including the Union Street Inn and Susan Warner Catering and Event Planning. Although I loved working with food, I felt the need to return to the world of plants in 2015 and pursue my dream of Pure Body Nantucket. In addition to making my product line, I also co-own the Antiques Depot on the island with my husband Jack Fritsch.
Why was I inspired to create my own skincare line?
I look at skincare from a wellness and self-care point of view. Your skin can offer real glimpses as to what is happening with you both internally and emotionally, and we need to pay attention to those signs. Your skin is your body's largest organ, why wouldn't you want to look after it?
Where do the ingredients come from and how are they made?
I source my ingredients from various well established organic farms and companies whose reputation and business philosophies I believe make a difference. Each and every product is researched, formulated, produced and personally bottled by me here on Nantucket island to ensure quality and freshness. All the recipes are original.
